Mustapha Ibn Boamah is a Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Business at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John.

He received a BSc (Hons) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, an MSc from the University of Nottingham, and a Ph.D. from Nottingham Trent University. His research interests include open-economy macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, and the economics of financial institutions.

Having previously taught at Nottingham Trent University and Kaplan International College in England, Mustapha Ibn Boamah teaches macroeconomics, financial institutions and markets, and international finance at the University of New Brunswick. He has received teaching excellence awards in recognition of his strong teaching record and dedication to students.

Dr. Ibn Boamah has authored and co-authored many peer-reviewed publications on inflation and exchange rate dynamics, monetary unions, interest rate parity, the economics of financial institutions, and social economy & microfinance. He has also co-authored two introductory economics textbooks for Canadian universities and colleges.

He has served on various university committees and as the Economics Area Group coordinator. Dr. Ibn Boamah is also a member of the Canadian Economic Association, the Progressive Economics Forum, and a past director of the Atlantic Canada Economic Association.

He’s a member of the Governing Council of the ICCE.
